The Consolidated Shipbuilding of New York City built some of the most famous commuter yachts of the 1920s and '30s. Sparkman & Stephens collaborated with Consolidated on a number of famous Commuters. Phoenix was designed and built for E.E. Dickenson Jr. in 1937.
